Command Task – SSB Interview

It is one of the most challenging tasks in GTO. This ground test is mostly conducted on 4th day of GTO and is quite similar to PGT in rules and obstacles to be crossed. As per its name, in this task, aspirants are made Commander of their group which consists of 2 subordinates picked up from the group. This task is given as per the past performances of every aspirant in terms of difficulty levels. Normally, it has to be completed within 10-15 minutes allotted but this time depends upon difficulty of the obstacles. GTO calls an aspirant in random manner and then has a short talk regarding the previous attempts and other details. Then he asks to call any two candidates as subordinates and begin the task. Individual Task – SSB Interview

As the name implies, this is a task at GTO day 4 which is performed individually. All members are given equal prospects to showcase their capabilities and prove their candidature to serve Indian Armed Forces. This time bound task has 10 obstacles required to be crossed within 3 minutes allotted to each aspirant. It is an extremely important task in GTO to judge attributes like physical strength, perseverance, stamina, decision making, and ability to fight innate fears. In this task, level of difficulty increases with each obstacle marked as 1 to 10. Candidates are given a choice to start this test from any obstacle that they deem fit. In the series of GTO taking place on Day 3 and Day 4, Lecturette is a crucial psychological test where you get an opportunity to exhibit your personal attributes. This is not a group task, so every aspirant gets a fair equal chance to prove his mettle. In this task, all aspirants are required to sit in a row and few cards with some topics are placed in front of them. Each card has four topics for giving the lecturette. Out of these, aspirants have to select one topic of their choice and speak on it for about 3 minutes. Similar as Progressive Group Task (PGT), this task has same set of rules as the earlier one. The only difference is in the number of aspirants constituting each group. Here, whole group is divided into two halves. This facilitates GTO to judge the capabilities of every aspirant under a close scanner. It is an important task in outdoor GTO and is extremely helpful for those candidates who were not able to express themselves fully in PGT or other tasks. This is another Outdoor group task (GTO) conducted on 3rd day of SSB Interview. An obstacle task is devised to test the motor skills of defense aspirants on parameters of physical fitness and intelligence to face the stringent war conditions. Group Obstacle Task or Snake Race is done using a snake like jute rope which is 6-8 feet long. One unique feature of this task is that the groups are given an option to choose a war cry which refers to a short motivating quote usually used during a tough mission.
