To get selected as musician in Indian Navy, there are certain criteria to be matched up with you. They include basic requirements of age, education, nationality, and some specialized criteria for every trade.
When you apply as musician, you must be the same. It implies that you must have aural aptitude with musical expertise in theory of music, western notation, and proficiency in playing some musical instruments. The instruments that are required to be played include String, Woodwind, Keyboard, Brass, and Percussion instruments, both Indian and Western.
Age and education
The young and unmarried men of India are required for Sailor entry as Musician in Indian Navy. Age of the aspirants must recline between 17 and 21 years. Educationally, an aspirant must be 10th pass out with a noticeable panache for music.
This is the basic requisite for any person aspiring to enter Armed Forces. Life in uniform demands discipline and fitness above all. So, you will have to clear the physical fitness test for entering Indian Navy through sailor entry. This test includes completing a run of 1.6 km in 07 minutes, 10 pushups, and 20 squats.
With physical fitness, sound health is also mandatory. Medical examination is conducted for ascertaining the health status of candidates. Candidates must possess physical attributes like minimum height of 157 cm with proportionate weight, sharp eye sight, and medically fit body to clear this examination. Authorized military doctors will conduct this examination in accordance with guidelines pertaining to it.
Process of selection as Musician in Indian Navy

- Candidates should send their application from through ordinary post only and its must carry all required documents.
- Shortlisted candidates on basis of application form will be issued call letters for screening test. Candidates who pass preliminary screening test will undergo physical test (PFT), medical test and Final Screening
For Musician trade, Medical examination along with preliminary screening is entrusted with Director of Music (DOM), INS Kunjali in Mumbai. The centers for these tests are allotted at any of the following Naval Recruitment Establishments:
