Indian Navy has issued much awaited notification for recruitment to invite applications from young and responsible enthusiasts to fill the batch commencing from July 2014 at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala. They are trying to attract unmarried outstanding Musicians who desire to join Indian Armed Forces for a splendid career.

Eligibility Details

Age Should have born between 2 July 1993 and 1 July 1989 (Including both days)
Educational Qualification Should hold Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University/ Institute along with fluency in spoken and written English
Professional Qualification Should hold Grade- 5 certificate or appropriate for Piano from a recognized board such as Bangalore Conservatory of Music.
Music Ability Should have ability to play Brass instruments, Woodwind instruments, or String instruments. Also candidates should have diplomas equivalent to (a)LRAM (b)ARCM (c)ATCL.
Experience Preference will be given to the candidates submitting proof of experience
Physical Standards Height should be minimum 157 cms with appropriate weight.Eye sight should be 6/60 correctable to 6/ 6, 6/ 12 with spectacles. Also, should not suffer from color/ night blindness.

How to Apply

Aspirants who are eligible as per the criteria given above can apply for this course commencing in July by applying in prescribed format. Application should be written in A4 size paper as per the instructions and specimen format given on the advertisement notification. Application must be Hand written or typed and should be free from any error, therefore it should be checked twice before sending the application form.

Selection Procedure

Shortlisted candidates will be called for preliminary examination at New Delhi for 1st stage selection. Aspirants who clear this stage will be called for SSB interviews from January to March 2014. In this interview, aspirants will have to pass two stages comprise of intelligence test, Picture Perception test, Discussion test, Psychological test, Group test and personal interview.

Training and Appointment

Selected candidates will be appointed as Sub Lieutenant and undergone training at Naval Academy INS Zamorin, Ezhimala, Kerala followed by professional course at INS Kunjali, Mumbai. Thereafter, candidates would be sent for a 3 years course at the Army School of Music, Pachmarhi.
