Indian-Army-Religious-Teacher-Recruitment-2014Indian Army has published notification for the recruitment of Pandit, Maulvi, and Padre (Religious Teacher) posts under Junior Commissioned Officer for RRT – 74, 75, and 76 courses of this Armed Force. Army Recruiting Office situated at Shyamalanagar, Pattabhipuram- Post Guntur is an integrated part of Indian Army holding recruitment fair of JCOs in their premises by inviting candidates of Anantapur, Chittor, Guntur, Kadapa, Kurnool, Nellore, and Prakasam Districts of Andhra Pradesh.

Applications have been invited through this notification for candidates who belong to culture of appropriate religious denomination and possess religious qualification acceptable to the troops.

These vacancies will be filled with Junior Commissioned Officers. Male candidates will be recruited as Pandit, Padre, and Maulvi in the Indian Army.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit:

Age of candidates should be between 27 years and 34 years for civilians and between 25 years and 34 years for remustered candidates. The age of candidates will be considered as on first day of Rally.

Educational Qualification:

Education qualification of candidates is well diversified as per the notification. Candidates should possess graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Further the qualification is divided as per individual positions of Pandit, Padre, and Maulvi.

  • Pandit: Qualified in Madhyama in Sanskrit/ Bhusan in Hindi or BA with Hindi/ Sanskrit as subject.
  • Padre: Ordained priest by the appropriate ecclesiastical authority and still on the list of local Bishop.
  • Maulvi: Qualified Maulvi Alim in Urdu/ Adam Alim in Urdu or Passed BA with Arabic/ Urdu as subject.

Selection of candidates

Applications will be shortlisted on the basis of eligibility, and aspects set by the Indian Army for the selection of candidature. The selected candidates will be called for written examination held at RO (HQ) Chennai on 23rd February 2014. Result of this examination will be displayed on the respective Head Quarters of Recruiting zone.

Those candidates who will have their name appear on the board are required to appear for Physical Efficiency Test comprised of running 1.6 Km in eight minutes. Candidates matching the physical standard will be called for medical examination for final selection.

Applications are invited from candidates belonging to 7 districts of Andhra Pradesh. They need to send application in prescribed format with the relevant documents attached. They should send this application well before 27th December 2013 enclosed with 3 set of envelops affixed with stamps and self address.
