Indian-Airforce-All-India-Selection-Test-Group-Y-April-2014Indian Air Force has invited applications in prescribed format from Indian nationals as well as subjects of Nepal. The notification is released for the unmarried male candidates for All India selection test in April 2014 to join as Airmen in Group Y for the trades of Admin Assistant, Accounts Assistants, Logistic Assistants, Environment Support Services Assistant, Communication Technicians, Meteorological Assistant, Ops Assistant, and Medical Assistant.

Aspirants will not be selected as commissioned officers/ pilots/navigators. For more details of eligibility, selection process and more read below.

Eligibility Details

Age limits:

  • Born between 1 Feb 1994 to 31 May 1997 (both day Inclusive)
  • Upper age limit is maximum 21 years

Educational qualification:

  • Have passed 10 +2/ intermediate or equivalent from recognized board with at least 50% marks
  • 50 % marks minimum in English in Matriculation or Intermediate
  • Those having cleared 2 years vocational courses are also allowed

Physical Standards:

  • Height 152.5 cms minimum
  • Weight proportionate to height
  • Chest should expand minimum 5 cms
  • Normal hearing from both ears
  • Should be free from medical or surgical deformity/ communicable diseases/ Ailments
  • Should have healthy gum and teeth

Selection process in brief

Written examination:

Shortlisted candidates will be called through admit cards and have to appear for written examination tested in English as per CBSE syllabus of AISSCE as well as Reasoning and General Awareness. This is for 45 minutes.

Physical Fitness Test:

Aspirants have to complete 1.6 km running in 8 minutes to prove PFT, however aspirants completing in 7 ½ minutes will be awarded extra points.


Candidates qualifying both PFT and Written will be called for Personal Interview. Usually it is conducted in English to prove efficiency in this language.

Medical Examination:

Air Force medical team will examine candidates as per the medical norms of institute as on that day of Medical examination. Candidates should be proved medically fit in this examination for final selection.

Pay Scale:

During Training period candidates will get Rs. 8550/- per month.

On successful completion of training period they will get emoluments of Rs. 19475/- per month.

  • Attach educational testimonials photocopies
  • Attach passport size photograph
