UPSC has declared CDS exam 2 2016 for combined entrance written test. Notification is issued to apply for online application form. CDS II 2016 Exam Vacancy details:
Total number of vacancies are 413 of which these are further divided as given below
- Indian Military Academy, Dehradun (143rd Course commencing in July, 2017) : 150 post
- Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala: 45 post
- Air Force Academy, Hyderabad: 32 post
- Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai—106th 175 SSC Course (for Men): 175 post
- Officers Training Academy, Chennai—20th 11 SSC Women (Non-Technical) Course: 11 post
Eligibility for CDS Exam 2 2016:
Candidates opting for AMA, AFA, NA and OTA have different educational, physical qualification requirements. Female candidates can apply only for OTA short service commission. Also male candidates willing to join for short service commission should opt for OTA as first preference during online application form filling for CDS II 2016 examination. - Indian Military Academy: Candidates should have Degree of a recognized University or equivalent from any Institution.
- Indian Naval Academy: Degree in Engineering from a recognized University/Institution.
- Air Force Academy: Degree of a recognized University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.
- Officers Training Academy: Degree of a recognized university or equivalent institute.
A proof of provisional degree certificate need to submit by candidates opting for IMA, INA and AFA on date of SSB interview.
Candidates should visit upsconline.nic.in for filling up online application form. Candidates can fill application form for CDS 2 2016 exam up to 12th August 2016 till 11:59PM. Application has to be filled in two parts i.e Part I and Part II. Part I of online form requires basic information to fill by candidates. Part II of application require to fill payment details, selection of examination center, uploading of scanned photograph and signature. Payment of fees can be made online through SBI online portal or by paying cash in SBI branch through printout of challan generated after completion of registration.
Written examination pattern:
For IMA, INA and AFA course an objective written exam of total 300 marks will be conducted comprising of subjects English ( 2hrs 100 Marks), General Knowledge (2 hrs 100 Marks), Elementary Mathematics (2 hrs 100 Marks).
For OTA, an objective written exam of total 200 marks will be conducted having subjects English (2 hrs 100 Marks) and General Knowledge (2 hrs 100 Marks). Candidates opting for OTA course will not require to sit for Elementary Mathematics question paper as in case for IMA, INA and AFA course.
Negative marking for wrong answers will be imposed on candidates. One third (.33 marks) will be deducted from assigned marks to question in case of wrong answer. No penalty for questions left blank with no answer. UPSC reserve right to declare cutoff marks.
Those candidates who will qualify cutoff marks in written examination will be called for SSB interview. SSB interview will be of equal marks i.e. 300 Marks (IMA, INA and AFA) and 200 Marks (OTA). After successful completion and qualifying SSB interview a medical examination will be conducted before joining to various academies.
Candidates can download E-admit card from website around three weeks before date of examination. No Admit cards will be sent by post. To ensure hassle free download of E Admit card for CDS 2 2016 examination, candidates must have same working email ID and Mobile number as filled during online application form to generate RID.
