Border Security Force has declared notification for the recruitment of Sub-Inspector Works examination 2014 conducted on all India base to ensure eligibility of candidature. BSF is a major segment of armed forces in India to secure the limits of Indian territories.
Selection of candidates will be purely done on the basis of this examination which will be conducted on selected examination centers of BSF(Border Security Force).

BSF has set upper age limits for the candidature of this vacancy. Aspirants should not have crossed 30 years as on the date of application receivable.
Upper age is relaxed for reserved categories, BSF candidates, Ex-servicemen, and residents of Jammu and Kashmir
BSF is asking for Diploma in Civil Engineering from recognized Institutes of Central Government or State Government.
BSF Sub-Inspector (Works) selection procedure
The selection of Sub Inspector(SI Works) will be conducted in two phases:
First Phase (Written Exam):
In first Phase aspirants have to appear for written examination conducted at the centers of selection programs. This examination is comprised of two papers explained as follows:
- Paper I: It is an objective type question paper which carries 100 questions with 100 marks in total. In this paper questions will be asked on the subjects of General Intelligence & Reasoning, General awareness, and General Engineering (Civil).
- Paper II: It will be conventional type question paper of 10 questions carrying 100 Marks. 12 question will be asked out of which 10 questions need to attempted by candidates.
In Second Phase candidates who have cleared 1st phase are eligible to participate. Aspirants have to appear at Delhi center on announced date before the selection board of examination. During this phase candidature will be tested on documentation, physical efficiency, practical test, interview, and medical examination.
How to apply for Sub- Inspectors Positions
Aspirants should fill the complete form according to instructions given on prescribed format and submit it to respective center address before 30 days of publication of this notification in Employment news. The centers are located at Guwahati, Kadamtala, Hazaribagh, Delhi, Bangalore, Delhi, and Jodhpur. Detailed addresses are given on the notification. Aspirants should submit three recent passport size photographs, two self addressed envelopes, and postal stamps of Rs. 39 each attached should be send through envelop super scribed with “APPLICATION FOR RECRUITMENT OF SUB- INSPECTOR (WORKS) IN BSF ENGG SET UP 2014”.
Aspirants, other than women candidates, SC, ST, BSF candidates or Ex- servicemen should also attach Rs. 50/- DD or Postal Order in favor of addressee along with application form as examination fees.
Note: Far flanged resident candidates can submit their application up to 45 days from the date of publication.
